The person credited with this Unit Standard is able to operate a counter-balanced lift truck in a safe manner. They will also be able to conduct pre and post inspections to ensure the performance of the lift truck. The person will be able to handle the loading and storage of freight by using the equipment and its accessories in the required manner. They will also be able to access emergency system and services in the event of an incident or accident.
This unit standard is to enable the first responder to react to emergencies at an advanced first aid level, until the arrival of more professional emergency personnel. Emergency scene management, Shock, Fainting, Unconsciousness, upper and cardio vascular emergencies, one rescuer Adult CPR, Choking adult, wound care (incl. dressing and bandages), severe bleeding (incl. Amputations), Bone and Joint injuries(upper limbs, muscle ,strains) Burn injuries, Bites and stings and Emergency Child Birth.
